Kingdom Progress, King Praise!

Exodus 20:7

“You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.”

During His triumphal entry into Jerusalem, Jesus was proclaimed by one and all as the King of David, the King of Israel. When commanded to tell the people to stop, Jesus insisted that even if they did, the very rocks would cry out His praise.

Wherever the King goes, His praises rise from His subjects. The very heavens declare the praise and glory of God; the entire creation praises Him, showing His beauty and majesty, His mystery and might in an ongoing display of variety and wonder (Ps. 19:1-4). Where the King rules, His Kingdom advances; where His Kingdom advances, the King is acknowledged and praised.

Paul said it was one of the great objectives of his life to fill his own sphere of influence–his Personal Mission Field–with the praise of God and His glory (2 Cor. 10:13-16). When we are taking God’s Name the way He intends, praise to Jesus will be the result.
