The Ninth Commandment

A Kingdom Catechism

God calls us to be people of truth.

Q 118: What is the ninth commandment?

A 118: The ninth commandment is, “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.” (Exod. 20:16; Deut. 5:20)

God is truth. His Word is truth. He calls His people to walk in truth, to speak truth in love, and to obey Him Who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. All encroachments on, compromises of, or outright acts of defiance of the truth are to be avoided. We are called to be a people of truth.
