Thus it begins

I am not sure where this will head, but it does concern me. Read Here. It seems our president elect has broken from tradition and has not attended Church Services since he was elected to office. Big deal many of you would say. Well it is exactly that, a big deal. We have all wondered in which direction the one would lead us, this, I am afraid points downhill. According to the Politico, the Obama’s have chosen not to attend services “because the parishioners might be distracted by their presence.” I will add now that Obama supporters will think that this is a wonderfully considerate thing for them to do and decry me as a hateful fear monger (I may write something on fear mongering soon), but it is quite an open page in the book on Obama’s soul to me.

There is one thing certain: the Bible teaches that the Lord our God comes first, we learn this in the first commandment of our God; “I am the Lord thy God, thou shalt have no other gods before Me…” And the point is reinforced for us when God commands Abraham in Genesis 22:1-14 to offer up Isaac, Abraham’s son, as the burnt offering. Of course the Lord does not allow Abraham to harm his only son by Sarah, but he tests his faith none the less and answers finally: “And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.” Verse 12 This teaches us that the Lord our God is above all things, even our children. This is implicitly carried over into the new covenant in Christ Jesus: “If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.” John 15:10. In all we do God must come first. Obama has clearly shown to us that God clearly does not come first.

I am not saying that missing Church is something we are all not guilty of, I myself have missed when ill or some sort of emergency has popped up. Lastly we are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God. That being said, when introduced into a true relationship with the Lord we do our best to honor and follow his commands. I have missed due to illness or some such emergency, and when traveling my wife and I plan ahead to find a good church, as do the members of my home congregation. But you would be hard pressed to find among us one who would forgo the sabbath for a few hours at the gym. Why, because we know what God asks of us and we fear and love Him. Obama has made the same statement since he began his quest for the Oval Office. Now we see his true colors. My God defend our nation.
