A 25 August 2014 The Christian Post article by Anugrah Kumar titled “Mark Driscoll: I’m Taking 6-Week Break as Charges Are Investigated” reports that Mars Hill Church’s lead pastor Mark Driscoll announced 24 August 2014 that he is taking a six-week break from the church as accusations about Driscoll’s “divisive” behavior are investigated by the church leadership.

A 23 August 2014 The Christian Post article by Michael Gryboski titled “New Conservative Presbyterian Denomination Reports Rapid Growth” reports that the Evangelical Covenant Order of Presbyterians (ECO) concluded their National Gathering in Dallas, Texas on 20 August 2014, and that during the conference it was announced that the denomination had grown from thirty churches and 10,000 covenant partners at their first Synod gathering in 2013 to now having 149 churches and 60,000 covenant partners.

The gathering was cosponsored by the Fellowship of Presbyterians.
