Working to Implement God’s Law
A Kingdom Catechism
Christians must work to establish the Law in their communities.
Q 26: How do believers work for justice and righteousness?
A 26: Believers work for justice and righteousness when they walk in obedience to God’s Law and strive to realize the standards of God’s Law in civil society. (1 Jn. 2:1-6; Dan. 4:27; Matt. 14:1-4)
It is not enough for Christians to obey the Law of God as they submit to the teaching of God’s Spirit (Ezek. 36:26, 27) and follow in the path that Jesus walked (1 Jn. 2:1-6). The Law of God is holy and righteous and good for all men, and if we love our neighbors as Christ loves us, we will do everything in our power to bring the benefits of God’s love to bear on their lives.
Thus, not only must believers practice the Law of God in their lives and communities, but they must also teach the Law and work for its implementation in the laws and policies of the nations where they reside, for only thus can the peace and order of such societies continue to increase.
