A 9 May 2013 CNSNews.com article by Susan Jones titled “Court Reinstates Christian College’s Obamacare Lawsuit” reports that on 8 May 2013, a federal judge in Pennsylvania reinstated Geneva College’s lawsuit against the Obama administration challenging the ObamaCare contraception mandate.
The original lawsuit was dismissed in February 2013 for “lack of ripeness”, partially in response to Obama administration promises of accommodations to religions entities. Geneva College’s reconsideration motion called the so-called accommodations a “smoke and mirrors” dodge that would still require the university to pay for objectionable ObamaCare provisions.

[2] Assyrian International News Agency Reappears on the Internet
The 8 May 2013 Presbyterians Week reported that the Assyrian International News Agency (AINA) website disappeared from the Internet sometime after the 6 a.m. EDT 4 May 2013 AINA News Digest was emailed. The editor was unable to contact anyone at AINA and was concerned that the disappearance may have had something to do with AINA’s unreserved reporting on Muslim terrorism worldwide. As the website reappeared earlier this week, the editor’s speculation that the outage may have been due to temporary technical problems seems to be the most accurate possibility.
The Christian Observer commends to the reader the links to AINA articles in this edition of Presbyterians Week, and expresses its appreciation to AINA for its continuing courageous reporting of the realities of Muslim persecution of Christians around the world.

[3] 2013 General Assembly of Free Church of Scotland (Continuing)
The 2013 General Assembly of the Free Church of Scotland (Continuing) (FCSC) will meet in Liberton Kirk, Kirkgate, Liberton, Edinburgh, Scotland commencing on 20 May 3013 at 6 p.m.
In a report of the FCSC’s Committee on Public Questions, Religion and Morals to be presented to the assembly, it is argued that the spread of homosexuality is harmful to any nation and that the same sex marriage lobby focus their arguments on the need of “equality” for all, no matter how perverse the lifestyle followed, with no other factor being allowed into the reckoning.
The Committee argues that the Bible teaches that Abusers of themselves with mankind will not inherit the kingdom of God and that the responsibility of the Church is to confront governments with that truth, whether the governments care or not.

The Presbytery of the United States of the Free Church of Scotland (Continuing) has arranged its eighth annual family conference, to be held once again in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, amidst the Appalachian mountains of Virginia at the at Highland Retreat in Bergton, Virginia. One purpose of the conference is to provide an opportunity for people in our congregations and many other friends to build fellowship in preparation for prayer and common labor.
It is also intended that the conference would give instruction in the Reformed faith, stir us up to seek maturity in godliness, and present the need for missionary outreach and for the establishment of new churches across the United States.
There will be an extensive book table with low prices, representing a choice selection of Reformed and Puritan literature, including a number of items which are now out of print. The emphasis of the book table will be on spirituality in the tradition of the Scottish Reformation. This is an opportunity to build up a library of the best in classical Reformed theology and experimental religion.
It is desired that such conferences will be a regular means of mutual encouragement. Interested parties from outside the Presbytery are warmly encouraged to attend.

A 100 mile prayer walk between Belfast, Northern Ireland and Dublin, Ireland to keep Ireland abortion free that began 11 May 2013 is being led by Reformed Presbyterian pastor the Rev. Patrick Mahoney. Mahoney’s delegation wants Irish elected officials to know what Ireland and her people face if abortion is allowed into their country. The walk is scheduled to continue through 18 May 2013.
The walking delegation includes a small group of American pro-life leaders that will be joined by members of the Irish pro-life community along the route.
The pro-life and faith community around the world will be able to participate in this “Global Prayer Event” through Facebook and Ustream.
Beginning 11 May 2013, people were able to pray with Rev. Mahoney and his team every day “live” from Ireland at 12:00 p.m. EDT.
All they have to do is go to:
www.facebook.com/RevPatrickMahoney
or Ustream under:
“Prayer Walk to Keep Ireland Abortion Free”
Ireland is facing its most critical challenge in keeping their nation abortion free as pro-abortion legislation is moving forward quickly in the Irish Parliament.
This prayer walk is a reprisal of a walk the Rev. Mahoney did twenty-three years ago seeking God to end sectarian violence in that country between Catholics and Protestants.
Director of the Christian Defense Coalition the Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney states:
“As Ireland faces its greatest challenge toward keeping their nation abortion free, it is critical that the pro-life and faith community passionately and urgently seek God in prayer.
“The greatest resource for bringing about social change and protecting human rights and justice is prayer. Through prayer, we can see God shift and shape history and keep Ireland abortion free.
“Through technology, we will be able to have people from around the world join us in prayer ‘live’ from Ireland. This ‘Global Prayer Event’ will unite the pro-life community in a way we have never seen before and people will be able to stand with Ireland from their homes, churches, schools and places of employment.
“Twenty-three years ago I held a similar prayer walk asking God to bring and end to the sectarian violence in Ireland. We are so thankful for the amazing results we have seen in that regard. On May 11-18, I will be praying and asking [that] God keep the violence of abortion out of Ireland and to ensure there are human rights, equality and justice for all.”
