“But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.” [Ezekiel 33:6]
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” [Ephesians 6:12]

[1] Alliance of Reformed Churches Formed by Forty-Three of 1000 Reformed Church in America Congregations
Forty-three theologically conservative congregations of the 1000 Reformed Church in America (RCA) congregations on 1 January 2022 exited the RCA and formed a new denomination called the Alliance of Reformed Churches (ARC). The RCA’s growing embrace during the past several years of homosexual marriage and ordination are two of the primary theological issues that led to the split in the 400-year-old denomination.
ARC reports that congregations from other denominations including the Presbyterian Church in Canada, the Christian Reformed Church in North America, and the Presbyterian Church in America are considering membership in the ARC.

In a 7 January 2022 IndyStar article titled “West Lafayette Pastor at Center of IndyStar Investigation Placed on Leave by Denomination,” it was reported that Immanuel Reformed Presbyterian Church (RPCNA) pastor Jared Olivetti has been placed on leave pending the results of a synod investigation for allegedly failing to act with urgency in responding to inappropriate behavior and sexual offenses by a boy at the church that is a relative of Olivetti’s. Olivetti is further alleged to have failed to recuse himself and used his position to interfere in the church’s response to the allegations.
The alleged offenses involved eight children from multiple families within the congregation, and occurred on and off church property between spring 2019 and March 2020. The children reported to their parents over-and under-clothes touching, oral-genital contact, and penetration.
It is additionally alleged that the church’s elders chose to publicly minimize the nature of the incidents and protected their pastor instead of the congregation’s children. A synod trial of three of Immanuel ruling elders is scheduled for March 2022 following Olivetti’s February 2022 trial.
