Have you ever thought of working for the Banner of Truth? We are now hiring for a Manager of the USA office of the Banner of Truth in Carlisle, PA. (Following on from our initial advertisements for this position in December we are re-opening the application process.)

Reporting to the General Manager (in our UK headquarters), the duties of the USA Manager include:

Planning, organising, and implementing a sales and marketing program for N. America for book sales, conferences, and the Banner of Truth magazine. This will involve working with both trade and direct sales channels, and managing the Banner presence at conferences and events.
Preparing annual budgets for sales and expenditure; monitoring and reporting progress against budgets and targets.
Managing and overseeing the website ensuring that it is providing suitable information and a good customer experience for on-line purchasers.
Managing the logistics and ensuring the smooth running of Banner of Truth Ministers’ Conferences.
Providing leadership of the office and warehouse staff to create a productive culture and assist staff to develop to their full potential.
Providing staff management, including benefit policies and hiring of appropriate employees.
Ensuring that we provide excellent customer service.
Promoting and administering the work of the bookfund in North America.
Contributing to product planning discussions, trade terms, and pricing policies.

What skills/experience do you need?

The successful candidate is likely to be educated to Bachelor level and have experience of sales, marketing, and operational management.
Knowledge of social media and digital marketing is required. This will include creating and analysing campaigns.
You will have a good knowledge of the current books published by the Banner of Truth and a good understanding of and commitment to reformed theology.
Experience of operations management would be beneficial.
You will have an infectious enthusiasm for the distribution of good Christian books and experience in Christian publishing will be an advantage.
You will have a good understanding of the state of the church in the USA and familiarity with different denominational and non-denominational groups/ministries, including knowledge of the various conferences and events taking place.
Ensuring that we provide excellent customer service.

You must be a committed Christian and in full sympathy with the doctrinal position and aims of the Banner of Truth.

The position is likely to involve significant travel.

[2] Reformed Church University Reviews Increased Fees Due to Student Backlash

A 9 March 2022 Pindula News article titled “Reformed Church University Reviews Fees Up To The Fury Of Students” reports that students at Reformed Church University (RCU), with campuses in Masvingo and Harare, Zimbabwe, have expressed concern over the recent tuition increase to US$350. The protesting students say that because they are civil servants and are paid in the local currency, are unable to pay in US dollars. The students also said that RCU set its fees above official bank exchange rates in violation of legislation by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ).

[3] Christian Publishers Locked Out of Twitter for Calling Transgender Official a Man

The following is excerpted from Christian Headlines, Mar. 23, 2022: “Twitter has taken action against Christian media platforms the Babylon Bee and The Christian Post for calling Assistant Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, Rachel Levine, a man. The Babylon Bee, a satirical news site, was locked out of Twitter for ‘hateful conduct’ after posting a tweet naming Levine, a transgender woman on the Biden Administration, as their ‘Man of The Year’ last Saturday. The tweet was a form of mockery against USA Today, which named Levin one of its ‘Women of the Year’ earlier this month. Despite being punished by Twitter, Babylon Bee’s CEO Seth Dillon asserted that they will not delete the tweet. ‘We’re not deleting anything,’ he wrote Monday on his account. ‘Truth is not hate speech. If the cost of telling the truth is the loss of our Twitter account, then so be it.’ … Twitter also imposed the same punishment on Christian news publication The Christian Post for tweeting its article with the title, ‘USA Today names Rachel Levine, a man, among its Women of the Year.’ On Friday, Twitter emailed The Christian Post accusing the news outlet of among its Women of the Year.’ On Friday, Twitter emailed The Christian Post accusing the news outlet of violating its policy against ‘hateful conduct’ and banned the account from posting new articles and

explained why the outlet refuses to take down the tweet. ‘The reason that The Christian Post is such a stickler for language, especially when reporting on the developments of transgender ideology, is because we value the

truth,’ Showalter said. ‘If we fail to maintain the integrity of what and how we report on these hot-button issues, we do a great disservice to our readers who count on us to communicate honestly. We simply cannot, in good conscience, overwrite the truth of our physiology with words that have no meaning or the opposite meaning,’ he asserted.”
