Grace to Murderers
Praise God for His grace to murderers such as we.
Read Exodus 20:13
“You shall not murder.”
Let’s face it: we’ve all been guilty of murder at one time or another. Maybe even right now. Review the meditations for this week. Seek the Lord in an extended season of searching your soul to see if murder has deposited any of its seeds in your heart or mind. Ask the Spirit to cleanse you, and to show you how to overcome the evil of murder with the holiness and righteousness and goodness taught and implied in the sixth commandment.
Pray
Thank You for forgiving me, a murder. I’ve been guilty of hate and resentment. I’ve withheld grace from others, talked about them behind their backs, spoken harshly without warrant, and done many other murderous things against Your image-bearers, O God. Forgive and cleanse me, I pray, and show me how to overcome the evil of murder with the goodness of Your Law.
